We love AlfaSpid antenna rotators! Known in Europe simply as Spid rotators and built in Poland by Spid Elektronik - an industrial automation firm before entering the rotator business - to Alfa Radio of Edmonton, Canada's high standards, AlfaSpids are rugged (real steel housing and final gear drive - no pot metal here), powerful (low voltage, high torque DC motor), versatile and provide excellent value for money. AlfaSpids come in a variety of models including azimuth, AZ-EL (moonbounce / EME and satellite) and new for 2015 high precision, tower mounted "BIG RING" ring rotators.

The unique AlfaSpid 'pipe mounting' system (see photos on the product pages) enables a wide variety of installation possibilities and thanks to the strength of the steel case many installs will not require an external thrust bearing.

We stock a heavy duty direct bury / UV stable rotator cable made in the USA exclusively for Force 12 for use with AlfaSpids by Orion Cable of New Hampshire (makers of the famous Buryflex coax - which we also stock). Info here.

We also make a galvanized steel adapter, drilled to the widely-used 'Ham M' bolt pattern, for mounting AlfaSpids on tower flat tops and rotator shelves, info here. Call or email us for other mounting solutions for your particular install. AlfaSpids work great with our Low Profile Tower (LPT) line as well as towers from Rohn, US Tower and others.

We offer bundle discounts on Antenna / Rotator / Controller / Tower / Cable packages - call or email us to discuss!

Note: AlfaSpids will work at a variety of voltages however we generally recommend using between 12 to 18 VDC with the AlfaSpid Rot1Prog and Rot2Prog controllers and with the higher end of this range reserved for larger loads and/or longer cable runs. Many people have been using AlfaSpids successfully at voltages up to 24 VDC without issue nevertheless we recommend staying at 18 VDC and below unless you are using the new MD-01 or MD-02 controllers which are built to manage the higher voltage. Most installations, however, work just great at 13.8 VDC.

You can 'mix and match' AlfaSpid rotators and controllers to accomodate your station configuration.

AlfaSpid rotators and controllers will work great with your existing shack 13.8 VDC power supply. Users running 18 VDC or higher have reported good results with the Meanwell lDC power supplies (widely available from several sources)

"After using the Alfa-Spid Big RAK for about 9 months, I have to say that it is the best rotator I have used in the 54 years that I have been a ham!"  K0TVD eHam review

"Alfa Spid RAU, the smallest of Alfa Spid rotors, in use since January 2012. Experienced several violent wind storms with no problems at all. Double worm gear holds it firm in position. Simple and rugged mechanics."  9A3VV eHam review

Like a Polish tank! I have had a Alpha Spid (sic) rotor up for 10 years and it has weathered some very bad Buffalo New York storms. Never a problem easy to use..."  KB2HUK eHam review
